Jie is a self-motivated and passionate designer who is enthusiastic about critical thinking and problem-solving in a creative way. She has a strong focus on user needs and human engagement. She is striving to create simple and elegant design that helps improve people's life.
She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she gained her master of landscape architecture in the School of Art and Applied Art. She has also expanded her interests in computer art, theater art and research project on sustainability and human health. During the two-years research experience, she was majorly involved in academic research related to human well-being. She has conducted numerous interviews and collected data to study the relationship between greenness and mental fatigue. This interest then later evolve into her thesis on a similar research topic, where she has collaborated with computer science engineer and the use of virtual reality to study the relationship between biodiversity and human preference.
She is currently living in San Francisco.
